ESCAPE

Many elements came together in this one. I was able to challenge myself and still use many of the tricks I learned from earlier projects. However the things I learned on this painting were exceptionally hard to discover. Most of what I like about it were just accidents that happened to add a little more to what I was trying to represent.
I tried to add more colors, like the reflection of the shades of pink and purple on her skin. That was a last minute addition, as there was originally going to just be a black background with a blue highlight.

I also learned that adding texture to the skin will help it look more realistic and not so blurry or painted. The texture will also help shape the facial features. For example; the chin and around the left cheek then down her neck, where the light pierces through her hair. I used all kinds of brush sizes and shapes, mostly in her hair to show depth and translucency.
