An alginate mould from the artist's face is cast into scented wax with imperfections and wrinkles etched into the surface. The eyes, commissioned from Madame Tussauds, are identical to the artist's own eyes and provide the only colour in the sculpture. The face rests precariously onto the hand acting as plynth simultaneously feeding and purging the self.
