Take Me On, I Dare You

By Monroe | 2007

Existential values
disguise false standards,
an empirical ignorance.

My intolerance
devours the calm inside me,
much like the rabid dog

I see you,

Obvious victim of habitual development,
you'll get no ragged sympathy
from me.

For you,
are nothing close
to the next best thing
to anything or anyone
of greatness.

Words spoken of
education,
your self-richeous proclamation!
Your insults are nothing more
than glorified yapping.

Rabble!
Rabble!
Rubbish!

Go ahead,
make your feeble attempt to hurt me.
It's itchy anyway,
this dusty trigger finger in my mind.

You will not penetrate
this castle mine.
I constructed this fortress
book by book,
fact by fact,
lesson by lesson.
Experience by redundant
experience!

Your snarling retort has no effect on me,
for I have collected myself
in my magic mirror stance,
reflecting back
only your own idiocy.

I need no further validation.
I suggestively revel in my superiority.
I'll not be the one to feed your demons.
You will not find your lost dignity here.

Be gone, O' stupid beast
before I start trying.
I stand underestimated
holding the advantage,
which you yourself
(inadvertently)
handed over to me.
