Sad times for the republic. Needless death and dying.Needless. Art aids mankind in his/her search for their higher self and ideals. I remember before the 2000 election. There was a profile in ART NEWS on the two candidates. Al Gore ,while visiting a fourth grade class made a collage of the earth as seen from above. He didn't want to leave it behind because it wasn't complete. His wife is an accomplished photographer. On the other hand we have Dubya and his passion for Western paintings of cowboys and Indians,simplified iconic images of noble savages and rugged cowboys. Black and white hats. Us vs. them.
