Biography

I guess I'm somewhat of an anachronism. I love film. I love spending time in the darkroom. The anticipation waiting for a print to come out of the developer makes my heart pound.
Medium and large format prints are my medium of choice. Don't get me wrong, I have digital equipment, and I use it. I am also no slouch in the digital darkroom and Photoshop.

I specialize in photographing the nude in private sessions.

The client typically wants photos for their husband or for their own viewing.

One of my clients probably said it best. "I want to have something to look back on that will make me smile, and I want it now. While I am looking my best."

Creative Tools Used

The challenge of the large format view camera to me is with the movements. You have the controls to optimize focus, depth-of-field, and perspective.
Getting it all "right" on a shot is both exciting and satisfying.

Techniques

I would rather scan a high quality large format negative than shoot with a digital camera. There is too much temptation to just shoot until you get a useable shot. With film you have to think about each shot, each composition. It is more cerebral.
