I am a transplant to Albuquerque. I am originally from a very small town on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, called Berlin. After graduation, I lived in Natal, Brasil for a little over 3 months prior to going to college in Virginia. I moved in Albuquerque in 1986 and I have been there since.
I have had a camera near or with me for as long as I can remember. I officially started Desert Penguin Photos in February 2000 I have just completed my 8th year in business. I started out doing landscapes and weddings and although I still occasionally do these types of photos, my true love is alternative/fetish/erotic photography. My idols are Helmut Newton and Eric Kroll. I am also a huge fan of Midori's shibari work.
"...And I know when something makes me uncomfortable, instead of running away, I embrace it as an OPPORTUNITY to grow. Because I have learned, that in the quest for knowledge and enlightenment, if you are not uncomfortable, you have grown stagnant. The measure of the individual is what they chose to do with the experience and the OPPORTUNITY for growth and learning. I chose to be uncomfortable and grow as opposed to being comfortable and stagnant."
