Biography

DS started off as a painter and sculptor, but quickly fell in love with the process of creating digitally, so he swapped the paintbrush for a graphics tab and never looked back.

DS moved from the UK and is now based in Baltimore MD working designing for local bands and companies.

Achievements

Dirty Scarab recently won "Best Artist Website" at the 22nd annual Washington Area Music Awards. He was also nominated for Best Record Design and Best Electronic producer.

DS works in Baltimore freelance and also lends his talent to several rock bands in the DC/Metro area.

Inspirations

I mainly work for rock bands on the east coast, so generally when I'm designing CD artwork the inspiration comes from the music. I don't think I could do a project for a band or musician without getting some visuals from the lyrics or the atmosphere and feeling of the songs.
